Dena E. Harris, M.D.
Dena Harris, MD is a Board Certified Gynecologist and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy specialist currently concentrating her practice in chronic sexual, vulvar and pelvic pain, as well as general, adolescent and menopausal gynecology. She was a medical pioneer, as the first OB/GYN in the SOHO area and also one of the first female OB/GYNs in private practice in New York City. After becoming partners with Dr. Deborah Coady in 1980, she co-founded SOHO OB/GYN women’s health care center.
She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1972, and received her medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College (now part of Drexel University) in 1976. Dr. Harris completed her internship and residency at NYU Medical Center, where she is currently affiliated as a Clinical Assistant Professor. In 1991, Dr. Harris co-authored Recovering from a Hysterectomy.
Dr. Harris is currently a fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD) for her original research on vulvodynia-related small fiber neuropathy. She is an active member of the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH), International Pelvic Pain Society (IPPS), National Vulvodynia Association (NVA) and The New York Gynecologic Society.
Dr. Harris has devoted her 30 year career to providing quality medical care. She combines excellent diagnostic and therapeutic skills while exercising great empathy and compassion for her patients. She has been named to the Top Doctors lists in New York by both New York Times Magazine and Super Doctors, as well as America’s Top Doctors through Castle Connolly for over 10 years.
Deborah Coady, M.D.
Deborah Coady, MD, is a Board Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist, with the major portion of her practice since the early 1990’s devoted to caring for women with chronic sexual, vulvar and pelvic pain. She graduated summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany in 1976, and received her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1980. She completed her post-graduate training in obstetrics and gynecology at NYU-Bellevue Medical Center, where she was the honor graduating resident in 1984. Dr. Coady then maintained an active role in resident training and clinic administration, while also establishing a private practice. In 1990 she became partners with Dena Harris, MD, in creating SOHO OB/GYN, a comprehensive women’s healthcare center. Since 2013, due to personal medical conditions, Dr. Coady has refocused her professional pursuits toward teaching, consulting, mentoring, and advocating for the care of women with chronic pain.
Dr. Coady is a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU-Langone Medical Center, a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society. In September of 2009, Dr. Coady was granted a fellowship in the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease after presenting her clinical research on vulvodynia. Her professional goal is to help expand and improve care for all women suffering from chronic pain syndromes.
She is the co-author of a critically acclaimed book for patients and their healthcare professionals: “Healing Painful Sex: A Woman’s Guide To Confronting, Diagnosing, And Treating Sexual Pain”, published by Seal Press.
Eden Gabrielle Fromberg, D.O.
Eden G. Fromberg, DO, is an osteopathic physician, Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Board Certified in Integrative & Holistic Medicine. She is a Fellow of the AOBOG, a Diplomate of ABIHM, and has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at SUNY-Downstate College of Medicine since 2000. Dr. Fromberg was born in Brooklyn, NY and was raised as a third generation vegetarian. She began studying nutrition, yoga, midwifery and botanical medicine at Oberlin College, graduating with a B.A. in Biology in 1985. She graduated from Southeastern University of the Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1991, and completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1995. Prior to opening her private practice, Dr. Fromberg was an integral contributor to opening the original Birth Center at Long Island College Hospital.
In 2005, Dr. Fromberg established her integrative gynecology practice at SOHO OB/GYN as a sanctuary for truly holistic women's health care dedicated to sort out complex issues and offer a range and depth of options and treatments to meet her patients' needs. She is also director of Women’s Health & Fertility Yoga programs at Lila Yoga, Dharma & Wellness, where her holistic and osteopathic medical training infuses her yoga teaching with a unique and specialized knowledge of the sacred mechanics of the female body.
Dr. Eden Fromberg is women's health consultant, working intimately with renowned midwife Robin Lim at the Yayasan Bumi Sehat Gentle Childbirth Klinik in Bali, Indonesia since 1997 and continues to work collaboratively with midwives and birth centers internationally. Dr. Fromberg appeared in the film The Business of Being Born and is an active contributor to the Huffington Post.
